Clonard 10s played St Mary’s of Maudlintown in Coolcotts on Friday night. The Clonard players turned  up in numbers and as a result fielded two teams against the Wexford town opposition. The Clonard players, many of whom attended the Clonard camp all week, gave everything in the encounter. While there is no doubt Clonard had moments of good play and demonstrated good skills at times the opposition were stronger on the night. The strength of the Mary’s did not deter the blues and in one of the two games their best third was the final third. A sincere thanks to all parents and to the players for their parents efforts. The coaches will have to continue to increase their efforts to help the players and team develop. While being a dual club can at times mean playing a club further along in its development in a sole code the benefits will be there for the Clonard kids the long run. Clonard Abú.
