Clonard junior footballers played their first match in the first round of the championship on Saturday 9th April last and came away with point in what was a very entertaining game to watch. Clonard struggled to get grips with the Sarsfields in the first half going in at half time 0-5 to 0 -4 down. Early in the second half Clonard did hold control of the game after bringing on two in the forwards and subsequently going four points up with ten minutes to go. Sarsfields stuck a close in placed ball in the net and then went a point up but in the last minute of the game Clonard had the last say when they tipped the ball over the bar to make it draw.
