Clonard 8s played in the Bill Cullen blitz hosted by Naomh Eanna on Saturday. Clonard fielding two teams in the blitz played against our generous hosts Naomh Eanna as well as Oylegate, Buffers Alley and Oulart. The Clonard team fielded on Pitch 1 and 2 were competitive against all the teams bar our hosts who were strong opposition. The Clonard team who played on pitch 3 and 4 – many of whom are still just starting out on their journey with Clonard and their journey playing hurling – gave it everything putting in some fine performances. It was a day to be enjoyed by all players.

While there is no doubt we played some good teams, strongholds of hurling in the county, the little blues showed that with consistent effort and practise in training they can compete. The blitz was a great experience for the players and club and one that gives all the coaches, players and parents an opportunity to learn from to continue in their development. Clonard Abu.
