Our U12 hurlers hosted Clongeen in Coolcotts on Wednesday 17 August. It was a brilliant match, end to end kind of a match, high catches, hooks, blocks and all.
Darragh our number 1 had very little to do because he had the colossus of Cian and Adam to stop any attacks. Our half back line was brilliant with Leon, Rory, Martha and Darragh 2, then we had midfield, captain fantastic Ryan. Our forwards Barry, Little Flash, Taofik, Jake, Sonya, Nicky, James, Daniel did their best.
Taofik was practising since last week with his speciality, the line ball. The first time I ever saw a match with no line ball for the home team, his day will come as the Boys from Skibbereen said after they won the Silver Medal in the Olympics.

We had a competition for €5 for the best report of the Kilkenny v Waterford All Ireland Senior Final match, the winners were Rocco wrote about Walter Walshe, Martha’s report on Lester Ryan and Sonya was Joey Holden.
The adjudicating panel decided (even after one of them resigned as he objected that it excluded any member of the Waterford team), that the 3 of them should get €5 each so somebody had to dig deeper. Where does one submit expenses?
