Hard luck to our Under 12 Footballers when they fell at the last fence in the B Shield Final in Ferns 10 Sept. early, and I mean early, morning. Our lads and lassies put up a brilliant fight until the final whistle. In goal we had Adam was brilliant as was all the backs, Cian, Barry, Danial, Rory, Darragh 1, then we had midfield Ryan, who was a tower of strength, ably assisted by Taofik, then our forwards who were altered , Adam, Killian, Sonja, Jake, Nicky and we had Rocco and Martha.
We invited them all to Burger Mac, courtesy of the Club, for a breakfast or lunch, where they were treated like royalty, or the photo looks like they were auditioning for the Blues Bros the Remake, I wonder who will get the rolls for Jake and Elwood.
Burger Mac gave more presents to the kids it was like Christmas, our thanks to Leonie and Melanie of Burger Mac.
Our thanks go to the parents that drove up to Ferns and through all the hurling & football championships, when we started out 4 months ago. We made lots of friends, old and new on the trek, hopefully our kids appreciated it, as we certainly did. Some of our drivers even found places that they never heard of, like Brigadoon.
